December 2007 Events

King Townships Christmas store Piety Ridge Primitives is a holiday wonderland. Make sure to have lunch at Sheena's Kitchen adjacent to Piety Ridge for hearty home cooked cuisine and baked goods.

Cookies with Santa
When: December 1, from 1 pm - 3pm
Where: 2920 King Rd west of Jane Street

Discover celebrations and traditions associated with this magical time of year! The King Township Museum invites children of all ages to have tea and cookies with the Man in Red! Santa Claus will be making an appearance on Saturday, December 1st, from 1-3 pm. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa and make fun holiday crafts! Celebrate the season with us at A Main Street Christmas December 1st, a King Township tradition in historic Schomberg, begins with a parade, and includes Santa Claus and his reindeer for the kids along with jugglers, a fire-eater, bellringers, storytellers, singers and costumed revelers of all sorts!. Parade of Lights at 8:00 pm is a sight to behold. Santa Claus Parade starts at 4:00 pm.

December 3rd Oak Ridges Moraine Trail Association - 9:30 am Jokers Hill & Thornton Bales Hike; 6km approx. 2 hours hills. Meet at Whipper Billy Watson Park. Call Stan 905-737-3966 for details.

The King Township Historical Society present a Christmas Concert with The Blazing Fiddles on December 7th at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Keele St. in King city. Call 905-841-5048 before tickets are sold out.

December 9th Oak Ridges Moraine Trail Association - 10 am to Jane St & Mary Lake area, 6km, 1 1/2 hours. Call Ken 647-866-7834 for details.

December 15th Ninette Gyordy 2 - 3 hour Hat Workshop at King Township Musuem. $30/p.p. includes material for velvet holiday hat. Call the King Township Musuem at 905-833-2331 for details and to reserve.

December 15th Lions Club of Nobleton sponsor the annual free Christmas Skate at the Nobleton Arena. Free goodies for the kids and a visit from Santa. 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

December 16th Free family skate at the Schomberg Arena from 2:00 to 3:20 pm. Free hot dogs & drinks for the kids.

January 2008 Events

Robbie Burns day at King Township Museum 2:00 to 4:00 pm in celebration of the Emigrants Kist. View exhibits, sample traditional food like Haggis and shortbreat. Be entertained with Fiddle music. February 2008 Events

Join family, neighbours, old friends and new at the Dufferin Marsh Skate and Bonfire 2008 on February 9th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. The event is free, and all are welcome, weather permitting. [ Top ]

Nobleton Valentine's Dance on February 9th 2008 at the Imperial Ballroom and will feature Danny Marks Rock & Roll Blues Review.

March 2008 Events

Schomberg Idol 2008 showcase dates to be announced.

The 4th Annual Schomberg Farm Tour on March 8th has been a favourite for years. This years theme are "Goats" & "Sheep". $10.00/car check Schomberg Fair website for full details.
